The exact price for each ship model depends on the transport cost and on the currency exchange rate on the day of purchase. The prices quoted on this website show an approximate price for each model; an exact quotation can be given on request. The experience shows that the exact quoted price is within the given range in 98 % of all inquiries.

Delivery

Each ship model is made by hand with hundreds of man-hours. Depending on the complexity of the ship please allow 4-8 weeks for delivery. Models are shipped safely with specially designed packaging for safe delivery and easy unpacking.

Payment

50 % upon confirmation of order; 50 % on delivery; by SWIFT transfer.

When the SOVEREIGN was launched in 1637, she was well able to satisfy the passion for ostentation of Charles I, who had ordered her construction.

With a keel length of 39.40 m, a midship section of 14.80 m, a mean draught of 7.10 m, a length of 71.45 m from head to stern railing and a height of 23.40 m from keel to the tip of the cresset (stern lantern) she was far and away the LARGEST SHIP IN THE WORLD.

10 men could stand upright in the cresset. The SOVEREIGN OF THE SEAS was popularly known by the name "Golden Devil". In her first naval engagement in 1652 the SOVEREIGN OF THE SEAS sank a Dutch warship with a single broadside.

In 1695 the SOVEREIGN was almost 60 years old and the admiralty considered having her scrapped.

However, the ship which had once been the pride of the nation refused to die - or at least in such a way. During the night of January 27th of 1696 when the SOVEREIGN was anchored in the port of Chatham, the cook forgot to blow out the candle burning in his quarters. The candle fell over and a short time later the SOVEREIGN OF THE SEAS was engulfed in flames from stern to stern. They were not extinguished until the hull had burnt down to the water line and what was left sank down to the harbour floor.

Lorsque le SOVEREIGN fut lancé en 1637, Charles I qui l'avait commandé et qui aimait le faste, pouvait être satisfait.

Avec ses 39,40 m de longueur de quille, ses 14,80 m de largeur de maître-couple, ses 7,10 m de tirant d'eau moyen, ses 71,45 m de longueur de la proue au garde-corps arrière et ses 23,40 m de hauteur de la quille à la pointe du feu de poupe, il était incontestablement LE PLUS GRAND NAVIRE DU MONDE.

Le feu de poupe pouvait abriter 10 hommes debout. Le peuple nommait le SOVEREIGN OF THE SEAS le "Diable d'or".

Lors de sa première mission guerrière en 1652, le SOVEREIGN OF THE SEAS fit couler un bateau de guerre hollandais en lançant une seule et unique bordée.

En 1695, le SOVEREIGN avait presque 60 ans et l'amirauté envisageait sa demolition.

Cependant, le navire qui avait été autrefois la fierté de la nation ne voulait pas mourir, ou tout du moins pas de cette manière! Dans la nuit du 27 janvier 1696, alors que le bateau se trouvait dans le port de Chatham, le cuisinier oublia d'éteindre une bougie dans sa cabine.

La bougie se renversa et, quelques instants plus tard, le SOVEREIGN OF THE SEAS était en flammes, de la proue à la poupe; le feu ne s'éteignit que lorsque la coque fut détruite jusqu'à la ligne de flottaison et les restes du bateau furent engloutis par la mer.
