An example of the shape of fishing boats in the 19th century, especially those which were based in and around St. Malo. They were 22.20 m long and had a draught of 4.80 m. Boats of this class are not surrounded by any exciting stories or adventures. They simply used to carry the fishermen out to their heavy work and, even today, if you go to the coast of Brittany for your holidays, you can still see fishing boats which look like the Bisquine Granvillaise. |
Ce bateau illustre assez bien l'aspect qu'avaient les bateaux de pêche du 19e siècle. |
