For centuries, huge fleets of ocean going junks plied the rivers, seas and harbours of the far east, from Singapore to Northern China.

They transported supplies and timber and were often armed with guns for which reason they were a threat to the merchant clippers transporting tea and spices because they could never be sure, until it was too late, whether they were merchants or pirates.

The RED DRAGON was one of those famous junks with its 4 cannons, its sailcloth roof, its extra large rudder and the symbolic animais painted on the bulwarks and the transom.

Elles transportaient des fournitures et du bois et étaient souvent armées de canons. Ces jonques s'avéraient être une menace constante pour les clippers marchands chargés de thé et d'épices qui ne pouvaient savoir s'il s'agissait de marchands au de pirates qu'au dernier moment.
