The last of the old whaling ships. Launched in 1841 at New Bedford, Massachussetts, at a cost of £ 52,000. lt completed 37 long voyages across the seven seas and earned well over £ 1,400,000 for her owners.

Her registered weight was 351 tons. 32.75 m length, 8.30 m breadth and 5.30 m depth. Beside the master, the ship usually carried up to five mates and between 40 - 45 crew members.

In 1921, her whaling days were over and she was eventually brought to Mystic Seaport, Connecticut, where she was designated as a registered national historic landmark in 1967, and remains there today preserved for history.

C'est le dernier des grands baleiniers. Il fut lancé des chantiers de New Bedford, Massachussetts, en 1841 au prix de £ 52,000. Ce magnifique boteau réalisa 37 longs voyages à travers les Sept océans et fit gagner à ses propriétaires plus de £ 1,400,000.

Pour un registre brut de 351 tonnes, il présentait une longueur de 32,75 mètres, une largueur de 8,30 mètres et une profondeur de 5,30 mètres. En plus du capitaine, le navire avait un équipage de 40 à 45 hommes sous les ordres directs de 5 sous-officiers.

En 1921, sa tâche de baleinier s'acheva et il rentra à Mystie Seaport, Connecticut. Finalement, en 1967, il fut désigné monument historique pour la postérité.
